June Prayers 2017

We are powerful! Everything is possible! Are you a believer?!
Without Spirit we cannot love as we should and we cannot know ourselves.

Pride + Spirit = Identity

You were created out of love. You are love, you are empowered, you are creative, you are beautiful!
Know yourself! Your life will touch so many people that no one can reach!

This Months Theme:

We are looking forward and including everyone.
We are talking about acceptance and understanding for all!
The theme for Pride Toronto includes the “+” sign.
The "+" sign makes reference to the diversity of people and voices at the event, as well as their hope to add new perspectives. (Taylor Simmons,CBC News)

Do those of the minority groups and diverse communities including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer Community count in the big picture of life on this Earth? What do they have to contribute to the Kingdom of God here and in Eternity?

For example, in the Gay community there has been tremendous outpouring of love for decades in the form of fundraising and moral support for those in need who are part of the community. Also there are plenty of opportunities for upcoming talent to shine and grow such as the establishments opening their stages for the entertainers to perform. It is a complete world in it's self where love and support abound for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer population.

You will find love and support for those in minority groups and smaller communities all over the GTA. Where there is love, there is God, for God inspires love and is love! So let's pray for our neighbours, even if they identify with another group or community that is different than ours. We are all born from the same place, that is, we are all born out of love!

What we are praying for:

God, fill our hearts with your love. Help us and all those in our community and in our neighbourhood to show acceptance and undertanding of those who are different than us in race, religion or culture. Help us to see the humanity in every individual and embrace them as family. Give us the courage to believe
that in showing love we truly will experience healing in ourselves and see it in those around us. Protect all those who choose your ways of love.
Help everyone to respect other's points of view and be willing to listen and learn.

Help us to realize the presence of the Holy Spirit and yeild to the changes the Holy Spirit brings.
Help us to follow your leading and let you fill our hearts with your love.

Protect all who are attending festivals and fund raisers this month. Let no acts o violence succeed. May they be stopped before they start.
May everyone have the chance to experience your love and joy at these events.
May the city of Toronto be kept in peace throughout this month.

God, help the crisis in Africa where people are starving. Help those countries to find peace and give help to those in need.

God, we pray for peace throughout the World. Help the countries to unite and win the war over terrorism. Help each country to know how they are to support refugees.

God, help all the civilian population to stop fighting among themselves.
Help the churches, social organizations to do their part in supporting and teaching young people the ways of love and acceptance.

God, we pray for the safety of all who participate in fundraisers throughout the GTA this month. We pray that all groups reach their goals!

Scriptures:

2 Corinthians 10:4. NIV
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

John 16:13. NLT
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.

  Galatians 3:28. NIV
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free,
nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Romans 13:10. NLT
Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God's law.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13. NIV
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains,
but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,
but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Where there is the Spirit, there is love.
In the Spirit there is truth, love,
peace, joy, patience,
understanding,
and all that is inclusive,
and all that is good!

Love is the key to humanity,
Love is the key to every dream!

Thank you for praying for your neighbourhood!!

so that you can understand the confident hope

Know who you are!

Mark 8: 27-38

To know Jesus is to know who we are.To know Jesus is to be like Him.
He is our life, our existence, our power, and who and what we are revolves around who we think Jesus is, the man, the Messiah, the righteous one, full of wisdom beyond everyone else, the pure one, the one who died for us, the risen one, Son of God, all powerful, almighty, loving, forgiving, healing, all seeing and knowing, our King and judge, our brother, our friend who would do anything for us! Walking with us, guiding us, comforting us, helping and protecting in every situation, no matter what!
He is there for us and will be forever!

This Month's Theme:

April brings us the beginning of newness of life. The air is refreshed, new plants are being birthed and Easter brings us the promise of life eternal.
The Daisy is April's flower. It stands for innocence, purity, new beginnings and true love.
From flowermeaning.com;
"The daisy’s message is, ultimately, one of hope and renewal. In sending daisies, the sender hopes the viewer will see the world as they once did as a child"
Let's allow this time of year to refresh our minds and strengthen our spirits. Let's not loose our childlike wonder at the stars. Let's continue to imagine, dream, hope, play and create.

March Prayers 2017

Laura Mvula - Green Garden
To see Laura's music video, "Overcome" on YouTube click here.

March is preparing for spring growth!

Don't forget to get alone when you need to, that quiet place where you can think, reflect, meditate, listen to that inner voice we all have to connect to the higher wisdom, that loving place where we restore. Take a walk in your green cool garden and get refreshed! Have a little taste of Spring early!!

What we are praying for:

God, change our hearts to be like yours. Protect our neighbourhood. Protect our city.
Protect everyone within from accidents and help us to turn from violence to your peaceful ways.

God we pray that our neighbours will make the right choices that will allow you to work in their lives and that will help them to hear your voice more clearly. May they experience your refreshing and renewal this Spring and be inspired to follow your ways of love.

We pray that love will be pure and continue among all peoples in the world! We pray for our world leaders that they find it in themselves to rule with a true heart, be filled with wisdom, and represent all peoples that they govern. We pray for the immigrants and those displaced that they are protected as they travel and find a safe place to settle. We pray that all peoples in the general public find it in their hearts to accept and befriend those who come into their country from other places despite their differences. May those in minorities seeking refuge find it.

Help those in authority positions to bring peace to the Middle East. Help the allies to stop Isis and return the countries under siege to peace. Restore relationships between nations that have suffered.

Help the crisis in Africa where people are starving. Help those countries to find peace and give help to those in need.

God, we pray for the safety of all
who participate in fundraisers throughout the GTA.
We pray that all groups reach their goals!
We pray for the Irish residents of our city
that they feel welcome here.

Scriptures from the Bible:

Jesus got alone to listen to God's voice to restore, refresh and get instruction, and to know who He was.
Luke 5:16. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

When we get alone and quieten ourselves, giving over to peace, then we will hear that inner voice that comes from love.
1 Kings 19:12. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.

The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth. What you need to hear at that particular time to stay on your life path.
John 16:13. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.

Pay Attention to your spiritual health.
Isaiah 58: 11. The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

Maintain your spiritual health.
Matthew11: 28,29.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you.
Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.

Grow your spiritual health!
1Timothy 4: 7-9
Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness.
Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important
for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.
This is true and everyone should accept it.”

Boost your spiritual health!
Isaiah 40: 29-31
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Psalm 145: 15,16. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Top 10 Ways to Boost Spiritual Health
(From The Christian Post)
1) Prayer; silence and solitude:
Spending time in God’s presence, with or without words, empowers us. It is a privilege and a gift to be able to commune with God through prayer.

2) Listening to God; spiritual journaling:
Listening-paying attention-to God’s whispers in our hearts reminds us that God is active in our lives. Writing down prayers, thoughts, questions, longings and hopes proves meaningful to many people of faith.

3) Private and corporate worship:
Praising God opens us to the Holy Spirit, reorders our priorities and redirects our paths. Worship connects us to God on a wholistic level.
4) Bible-reading and study:
Meditating on God’s Word keeps us focused on God, rather than on our problems and wants. Through the Bible God speaks to us and guides us personally.

5) Obeying God’s commands:
Putting our faith into practice increases our joy. This is one of the paradoxes of faith: when we submit ourselves to God, we find ourselves-and in an odd way, we are freed.

6) Loving God and our neighbors:
Surrendering to God leads us to a life of love. God is love, and when we live and serve in Christ, we experience love ourselves.
7) Stepping out in faith when urged to do something:
Trusting in God’s guidance strengthens our faith. When we dare to step out in faith, we learn that God is with us wherever we go and that God is more powerful than our fear.

8) Fasting, not necessarily from food-perhaps from TV or something else: Finding time or space to pay attention to God by giving up something else blesses us beyond measure. We need to guard our hearts as well as our time from distractions.
9) Serving others:
Reorienting our attitude away from self keeps us on the right track. Following Jesus in serving others heightens our own experience of grace.

10) Fellowship with other believers:
Building and being part of a Christian community equips us for sharing and caring, within and beyond that community. The values of God’s kingdom are different than those of the world, so we need the support and encouragement of other believers in order to truly live as Christians in our daily lives.

February Prayers 2017

The Month of love!

Let's keep loving and keep up hope! Love those around you in your immediate world while continuing to pray for peace throughout the planet. And let's not forget it is up to us to pray for those in authority whether we agree with them or not. Bad mouthing won't bring about change we would want, but prayer has positive affects. Pray that world leaders have wisdom, love, and seek inspiration from God, from loving intentions, not selfish ambition.

Let's remember the contributions of those who have immigrated to our continent, which have been great! Of course this month we are celebrating the contributions the African-Americans have made over the years.

What we are praying for:

This month let's pray that love will be pure and continue among all peoples in the world! Let's pray for our world leaders that they find it in themselves to rule with a true heart, be filled with wisdom, and represent all peoples that they govern. Let's pray for the immigrants and those displaced that they are protected as they travel and find a safe place to settle. Let's pray that all peoples in the general public find it in their hearts to accept and befriend those who come into their country from other places despite their differences. May those in minorities seeking refuge find it.

Let's pray for those who were bereaved by the Quebec City mosque shooting. Let's continue to pray for the safety of all Muslims and that people in our country will get better understanding of them.

Scriptures from the Quran:

"O mankind! Allah created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)." Nobel Qur'an (49:13)

The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness. (Al Quran 55:61)

Scriptures from the Bible:

Matthew 25:34-46English Standard Version (ESV)

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Psalm 41:1-3
For the choir director: A psalm of David. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Thank you for joining us in this month's prayers!

Pray for those leading our governments!

Let's keep on lovin'!
