More songs and links to come!!

God loves us so much to come to be born on Earth as a baby, to live among us and die for us. Isn't true spirituality to love others, give of your time to help others living on the planet? We were all born out of love. That is what we are and that should always be our motivation and intention in every thing we do.

What gift do you have and how are you to share it?
What story does God want to tell through you?

What we are praying for:

God we pray that people everywhere can feel that inner peace that strengthens and guides us no matter what our circumstances. God we pray that everyone will feel your love deep within and be released to allow your love to flow through them in their own unique way.

Encouragements:

God is the one who gave us our unique talents. We need not be afraid to share them. Let them shine! With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can manage our talents so God can generously minister through us to others. 1 Peter 4:10,11.

Don't be afraid to fan into flame your God given talents! 2 Timothy 1:6.

God guides you along the best pathway for your life! Psalm 32: 8.

Your God given gift comes naturally and peacefully and is full of love! James 3: 17, 18.

Ephesians 3: 16-17. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Have a very blessed Christmas as you join with us to pray for others and share out of the gifts you have.

Peace of Christ be yours always!

Lectionary September, 2, 2012

Nutshell:
This week's reading is very simple, but it is very exciting to me, because it answers the question- how do we ever get to become the example of Jesus in our lives on Earth from where we are now? How do we ever get to be like Him and do the things He did? How could we ever love as He?

What God wants is very simple. Do good and what is right to each other, be a loving person, a helpful and good neighbour and all God's blessings will come to you. We all want great miracles, signs and wonders! Fantastic, spectacular things happening! Lots of noise and excitement!!
But what did God do? God came down to Earth born as a helpless baby, grew up as an average middle class man who just loved people, taught in the synagogue, and helped the poor. Miracles came out of that and as we live our lives in a loving way, miracles can come out of our lives too. Having Jesus live an ordinary life in a loving way prepared Him and the people around Him for His ministry. Not only did Jesus heal the sick and feed the hungry miraculously, He taught us how to live and usher in His Kingdom just through loving each other. God is love and wherever there is love, God is there.

Scripture verses:

Psalm 15
Who may spend time in God's presence?
Those who speak truth with sincere hearts and refuse to slander others or harm them in anyway.

Psalm 45: 1-2, 6-9
From verse 6, 7:  Your throne O God endures forever, your royal power is expressed in justice. You love what is right and hate what is wrong. Therefor God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.
Chain References for Psalm 15:

Zechariah 8:16  The Lord's love for mankind is passionate and strong! The Lord wishes to live in everyone's hearts. As we allow God to live in our hearts, we will be called faithful for the Holy spirit will make us so. Then we will enjoy all the benefits of that.
God will make our cities safe to live in. God will be faithful and just to us. God will plant seeds of peace and prosperity among us. We will enjoy abundance. We ourselves will be a source of blessing. People from all over the world will come to us asking for a blessing from God. "And they will say, " Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you."
To gain all this, you must continue pursuing God and doing good to others. Pursue in every situation what is right to do. Be truthful to each other. Never tell anything false that would hurt anyone. Love truth and peace and God will turn your times of mourning into festivals of joy and celebration.

Ephesians 4: 25, 26a
Tell your neighbour the truth because we belong to each other and don't let anger cause you to sin.

Psalm 34: 12-14.
Do any of you want to live a life that is long and good? Then watch your tongue! Keep your lips from telling lies! turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others.

Leviticus 19:13-18
Be respectful and fair to all no matter if they are poor or challenged in some way. Don't try to benefit yourself at the expense of others.

Exodus 23: 1-3.
Don't be swayed by the majority. Don't disrespect the poor.

Chain References for Psalm 45: 6,7.

Psalm33: 4,5
For the word of the Lord holds true, and everything He does is worthy of our trust. He loves whatever is just and good, and His unfailing love fills the Earth.

Psalm 21:6 The joy above all other joy is the joy of being in the presence of God. We have the same joy that has been given to Jesus!
We have been given the joy of knowing that we are forgiven and loved, the joy of knowing that we will live with God forever, the joy of knowing that we will be protected in perfect peace forever!
That's cause for celebration everyday and what better way to do that than by helping others in need. That is what Jesus showed us: to love one another for if you do that, you fulfill the whole law because when you are helping others, you won't do anything to hurt them. As you are helping others, you are getting to know them, your love for them grows and because you are investing your time in them, you care what happens to them.
Jesus did this himself by waiting on God for the help of the Holy Spirit. We are encouraged by His example to do the same. The Holy Spirit fills our hearts with God's love and inspires us what to do to help others. It's the Holy Spirit that empowers us to do God's will. If you can't hear the Holy Spirit for what ever reason, then return to love, do something out of love, for love is the basis of everything good! Where there is love, there is God!

November Prayers 2017

This month let's remember our vets, and remember the need for healing and mental health, theirs and our own.
Let's remember that everyone belongs here, no matter their state of health or age.

Videos and music for this month:

The Tenors, Instrument Of Peace.
 The Tenors, Lean On Me.

This month's theme:

November is the month to remember our vets, those who risked their lives for our freedom in past wars and those presently doing so.
Let's also consider this month to pray for healing of memories, that our vets and all people are healed of trauma and grief and can receive joy from their memories of good times.

What we are praying for:

God, protect our vets from violence, protect all our men and women who are serving in military here and all over the world. Bring healing to all those traumatized. May they have the medical help they need and the encouragement of others.
God, may mental health and trauma be understood and be attended to appropriately here in Canada and the U.S.
May all those who suffer recognize it and get the understanding and help they need.
God, help all those bereaved. Comfort them, strengthen them. Give them your grace to live with passion in honour of those who have gone before them.

God we pray for world peace. Please stop nations who have intent to harm through armament or cyber attacks from attaining the resources to do so. Grant all governments and rulers the chance to negotiate peaceably and the willingness to do so. May the rulers of all countries have the desire to seek your wisdom and use it for peace.
God, help our religious groups to seek your presence and your wisdom and take their place in helping the members of our society to heal.

God we pray that all festivals, fundraisers and events are safe for all who participate and those who attend
and that all have a good experience with love, joy and peace!

Pray for all those who attend the Santa Clause Parade!
God, we pray for all the celebrations this season
that people throughout the GTA will not forget
the true meaning of Christmas.

Pray for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
That all events are safe and that all have a great experience!
Pray for the health and welfare of our farmers and our food!

Scriptures and links:

God Knows! It is impossible for us to make it on our own, click here.
We can gain the strength and wisdom we need from above if we simply ask.

Ephesians 6:10-18.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. <We have God's mighty power protecting us and fighting for us!>

1 John 4:12.
No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

Philippians4: 6-9.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Joshua 1:9. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 34:18. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Ephesians 2:19. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family.

Romans 12:21.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
<The power is in you to do it.> For July prayers to break every chain, click here.

We can't be free on our own strength, so we are not expected to do it ourselves. When we depend on self discipline our focus is on the habit or hurtful behaviour. When we surrender to love, to the new way of life, to God, then our focus is no longer on the old way, but on healing and the new ways that bring the healing.

Thank you for praying with us!!

Cooler Weather November 2017

Luke 6: 27-38
In view of the big picture, it is vital to forgive. You have been given Eternal life, so you must forgive as you have been forgiven by God. Eternity may be at stake for your brothers and sisters, so forgive them. Your love may win their hearts and cause them to repent and accept God's love through you. Then they will gain Heaven too!

Psalm 37: 1-11, 39-40
Don't worry about the things in this world. Don't strive for them. God has provided everything for you. Be humble, thankful and trust God.
He is taking care of you.

October Prayers 2017

More videos for October:

Morning By Morning, Dan Macaulay.

Find You Here, Ellie Holcomb.

Theme for this month:

Be thankful in everything you do!

Let's be thankful for all the good things we have! Good food, good home, good friends, good memories!! Let's spread love and joy to all our family and friends, and don't forget those in our neighbourhood who are in need! Give as you can to those who have suffered loss. Let God's peace and love fill your heart to guide you!

Why the video this month?

Look at the people with signs in the video. Sometimes we have to look for the blessings in our lives. But focusing on what we do have
gives a better perspective. Even if we don't have friends to call on, we can call on God who will give us inner strength and change the negative to positive
and sometimes do it through others coming into our lives and sometimes through means we never thought possible!

What we are praying for:
God, we pray that families will be reunited, restored and their hearts filled with peace and love. We pray that those who feel alone will find peace in their hearts and find family among friends. May those who have lost loved ones feel your peace and comfort and find joy in their memories especially during the seasonal times of celebration. Help those who have suffered loss of any kind to receive your comfort that heals and your light that brings clear direction.
Hear our prayer, God of loving kindness.
Thank you, God of loving kindness.

God we pray that all festivals, fundraisers and events are safe for all who participate and those who attend
and that all have a good experience with love, joy and peace!

Scriptures:

Colossians 3:15-17 English Standard Version
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Phillipians 4:6 English Standard Version
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 English Standard Version
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Colossians 2: 6-7
<Walk with God throughout your life and let the Holy Spirit fill your heart with thankfulness towards God, for God is faithful no matter the circumstances and will answer your needs.>
