This month's theme: 

We are not here on this planet to preach love or to teach love. We are here to love! The best way we can experience newness of life in the new year is to love others. As we give it away to others through our actions and what we say, love will heal us and flow through us to bring healing to those around us. Don't preach it. Live it!!





Prayers for this month:                            

God, we pray for the peace and safety of our neighbourhoods. Please help everyone to live with respect to others and really care for each other lovingly. May those who are a threat to themselves or others get the help they need. Give wisdom to neighbours to see the warning signs and look out for one another. Help those in charge to make our neighbourhoods safe places for everyone including our children. May they put the laws and policies in place to keep our streets, our schools and day cares safe places for all.


God, we pray that cities provide proper shelters and warming centers for the homeless. Grant those in charge the wisdom to know what has to be done to provide for the needs of the homeless. Help them to solve the opioid crisis and provide safe places for those addicted. Help them to find ways to provide treatment for more of those addicted.

God, help our government to better provide for our war vets. Guide those in charge the wisdom to put into action better policies dictating their treatment. May all vets and their families, including those bereaved get the financial, medical  and emotional help they need. May there always be respect for those men and women who have served for our country.





Scriptures and meditations:

1 John 4: 7. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 

Psalm 86:15. But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. 

Galations 3: 28. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 139: 1-18. You know everything about me, my innermost cravings, yet you still love me! If I went to the farthest place from you, or hid in the darkest of the depths, your love would find me, your presence would come to me and not leave me alone. And your will is always to rescue me and woo me back to your side!

This month's theme:

God hears all our desires, our hopes for the future, our dreams, our thoughts about our most basic needs, our concerns about our well being and our cares for those around us.

If we can't understand our circumstances and life doesn't seem fair to us or those we love, remember that God is love and desires only the best for us. So keep acting out of love to others, keep the faith and God will come to you.

 When you show an act of kindness to someone, it's like a piece of Heaven come down to earth!






 So watch what you say and be careful what you wish for!

What we are praying for:

Let's continue to pray for peace throughout the World and for safety and provision for the individual.
Let's continue to pray that people everywhere will have the courage and desire to let God be revealed in them.

God, we pray that all nations will practice fair, reasonable communications with peaceful negotiations and turn from violence and deception. 

God, help those in charge the wisdom to stop terrorism. Comfort all who have lost loved ones to acts of violence. Help them to forgive. Bring healing to them and give them new courage to live in honour of their loved ones. 

God, we pray that this new year people everywhere will experience your love, your peace, and that they will have the inspiration, the resources, the courage and the strength to start their lives anew! God, give them the courage to let go of the things they have outgrown and start new ways of looking at their world and new ways of doing things. Put the desire in their hearts to ask you for enlightenment.

God, we pray that all children will have their basic needs met in a safe environment where they can learn the skills they need to contribute to their community and prosper.
This new year may people be lead by your spirit to seek your love and wisdom. Help them to open their hearts to your love and allow it to heal them and flow through to those around them.

He is our life, our existence, our power, and who and what we are revolves around who we think Jesus is, the man, the Messiah, the righteous one, full of wisdom beyond everyone else, the pure one, the one who died for us, the risen one, Son of God, all powerful, almighty, loving, forgiving, healing, all seeing and knowing, our King and judge, our brother, our friend who would do anything for us! Walking with us, guiding us, comforting us, helping and protecting in every situation, no matter what!
