February Prayers 2017

The Month of love!

Let's keep loving and keep up hope! Love those around you in your immediate world while continuing to pray for peace throughout the planet. And let's not forget it is up to us to pray for those in authority whether we agree with them or not. Bad mouthing won't bring about change we would want, but prayer has positive affects. Pray that world leaders have wisdom, love, and seek inspiration from God, from loving intentions, not selfish ambition.

Let's remember the contributions of those who have immigrated to our continent, which have been great! Of course this month we are celebrating the contributions the African-Americans have made over the years.

What we are praying for:

This month let's pray that love will be pure and continue among all peoples in the world! Let's pray for our world leaders that they find it in themselves to rule with a true heart, be filled with wisdom, and represent all peoples that they govern. Let's pray for the immigrants and those displaced that they are protected as they travel and find a safe place to settle. Let's pray that all peoples in the general public find it in their hearts to accept and befriend those who come into their country from other places despite their differences. May those in minorities seeking refuge find it.

Let's pray for those who were bereaved by the Quebec City mosque shooting. Let's continue to pray for the safety of all Muslims and that people in our country will get better understanding of them.

Scriptures from the Quran:

"O mankind! Allah created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)." Nobel Qur'an (49:13)

The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness. (Al Quran 55:61)

Scriptures from the Bible:

Matthew 25:34-46English Standard Version (ESV)

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Psalm 41:1-3
For the choir director: A psalm of David. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Thank you for joining us in this month's prayers!
